Searching with Apache Solr

Apache Solr is an open source search platform. It is based on Lucene, a high-performance, full-featured text search engine library written entirely in Java.

Drupal provides a module called Apache Solr that provides some groundwork and basic settings to get you up and running with Apache Solr.

In this presentation, I'll cover Apache Solr from the ground up, with a bent towards developers.

I'll cover Apache Solr at a high level for those unfamiliar with it:
- Apache Solr basics
- Benefits of using Apache Solr
- Installation of Apache Solr
- Examples of Apache Solr in action

I'll also cover deeper topics to allow people to expand Apache Solr further:
- Available hooks for the Apache Solr module
- How to develop for and extend the Apache Solr module

My goal is to explain enough about Apache Solr that beginners feel comfortable using Apache Solr while intermediate developers gain enough knowledge to be able to capably extend Apache Solr.
