If called on, I would like to talk about the #novice initiative and the impact of having issues with #novice tags and the designated "office hours". Being a novice that is interested in core development, I attended LA drupal's core testing and initially worked on D7 issues marked critical. Currently working on a #novice issue for D8 (with GIT) which is providing a doable and supportive path for those interested in core work. This discussion would be on ways for more novice to help to contribute.
